1997 Island Packet 37

The Island Packet 37 is a modern cruising sailboat that builds on the proven success of its predecessor with a larger hull, deck, and interior. A significant design improvement moved the rack and pinion steering mechanism from under the helm seat to under the binnacle, concealing the steering shaft and opening up cockpit space for easier movement and comfort underway.

The boat is powered by a Yammed diesel engine rated at 38 horsepower, providing reliable auxiliary power for cruising. The fiberglass construction measures 37 feet in length with a 12.17-foot beam, offering a solid platform for extended voyages.

This particular example has benefited from thoughtful upgrades over its service life. The mainsail was updated with an inside-the-mast Charleston Spars furling system, and 350-style sternrail seats were added along with other improvements.
