The 1997 West Bay Sonship 58 is a fiberglass pilothouse motor yacht built for extended cruising. At 58 feet with a 17-foot beam, she offers a substantial platform powered by twin Caterpillar 3176 diesels producing 625 horsepower each. The boat has logged just over 1,000 engine hours. Twin Naiad Marine stabilizers manage roll, while new Bennet trim tabs aid handling and fuel efficiency.
The interior combines traditional teak with modern systems throughout. Three staterooms and two heads with walk-in showers accommodate extended voyages or liveaboard living. The galley features a new four-burner electric stove, microwave, and full-size stainless refrigerator. New upholstery, teak flooring in the salon, and a new six-zone reverse-cycle air conditioning and heating system define the main living spaces. A washer and dryer are installed.
Power and propulsion systems reflect a comprehensive refit. A new 28 kW Phaser generator with low hours supports a complete Victron Energy inverter and charger system. Dual new Beaver shore power transformers handle 50-amp service. Navigation includes dual Garmin GPS systems, a Garmin GPSMAP 7608 chartplotter, new radar, depth sounder, and a Simrad AP24 autopilot. A new Fusion marine sound system and VHF radio complete the electronics package.
Deck equipment includes a bow thruster, hydraulic windlass with plow anchor, and davits with a Hypalon RIB tender and 60 HP outboard. The boat carries 1,000 gallons of fuel, 260 gallons of water, and a watermaker. A full flybridge enclosure provides weather protection. Freshwater cooling systems and automatic bilge pumps support reliable operation.
