The Catalina 400 is a 40-foot fiberglass cruising sailboat known for its spacious cockpit, full-width aft stateroom, and open deck layout. Powered by a 42-horsepower Westerbeke diesel engine with documented service records, including maintenance completed in May 2025, the boat combines traditional sailboat handling with modern convenience. The cockpit features twin helm positions with forward-facing seats, large wraparound benches with high backs, and new cushions. Canvas includes a high dodger with protective windows, bimini, and connectors. Lewmar 58 primary and 40 secondary winches handle the sails, which are in good condition. The boat sits on a wide, uncluttered deck with raised lifelines, and a large anchor locker with easy windlass access and dedicated washdown.
Below decks, the accommodations center on a bright saloon with a wraparound settee and large dining table, adjacent to a U-shaped galley. The galley is equipped with an oven and stovetop, front and top-loading refrigerator-freezer, double sink, water purification unit, and extensive storage. A dedicated chart table with systems access sits nearby. The full-beam aft master cabin features a double berth with seating on both sides, hanging locker, drawers, storage, portlights, fans, and lighting. An ensuite head includes a separate shower stall and electric toilet.
The forward V-berth cabin provides a second bunkroom with a second ensuite featuring a shower and composting head, plus additional storage and portlights. Both cabins have fans and lighting. Reverse-cycle air conditioning operates throughout the interior.
Navigation and onboard systems include a new Garmin chartplotter and radar, autopilot with remote, Raymarine VHF with AIS, tri-data display showing wind, speed, and depth, and compass. Electronics upgrades include a new Fusion stereo system with interior and cockpit speakers. Power systems comprise 300-amp-hour AGM batteries installed May 2022, a new Victron DC-to-DC charger, Victron battery monitoring, 500-watt solar panels, and a 1500-watt inverter. A new Seaward hot water heater and SeaWater Pro 20-gallon-per-hour watermaker complete the cruising setup. A custom arch and davits are installed on deck.
