1998 Catalina 42 MkII

This 1998 Catalina 42 MkII is a fiberglass cruising yacht built around the design principles that made this model a proven favorite: genuine interior volume, manageable systems, and practical deck layout. Powered by a 50 HP Yanmar diesel with approximately 660 hours, she carries a three-blade AutoProp, dripless shaft seal, freshwater-cooled engine, dual bilge pumps, and two electric heads with new macerator pumps.

Below decks, the two-stateroom layout centers on a forward Pullman-style owner's cabin with ensuite head and separate shower, an aft guest cabin, and a second day head. The saloon features convertible seating for six that creates an additional double berth. Teak and holly sole, custom innerspring mattresses in the staterooms, and multiple hatches and opening ports provide comfort and ventilation. The galley includes a three-burner propane stove and oven, microwave, Adler/Barbour refrigeration, and 131 gallons of water across four tanks.

On deck, a dodger and bimini offer weather protection alongside a walk-through transom, removable helm seat, stainless lifelines with stern gates, Maxwell electric windlass, and double anchor roller. Dinghy davits support an AB 320 aluminum dinghy with 15 HP outboard. The rig features a full-batten mainsail with Dutchman system, 135% roller furling genoa on a Schaefer 3100 furler, rigid boom vang, adjustable genoa cars, and Lewmar self-tailing winches with sail controls led aft.

Electronics and power systems include an Autohelm autopilot, ST60 instruments, Autohelm RL70 display, Furuno radar, dual VHFs, eight golf cart batteries, and a smart inverter from approximately four years ago. LED salon lighting was updated in 2020. A Fairclough cover is included.
