1998 Custom 49

This 1998 Custom 49 is a Swedish-built bluewater cruising yacht with a proven track record of offshore sailing. Hand-built to a Wasa hull design, she displaces 14 tons with a lead fin keel and fiberglass hull. Power comes from a Nanni 60hp diesel engine with 3500 hours, offering a cruising speed of 6 knots and maximum speed of 9 knots. The yacht carries 500 liters of fuel and 600+ liters of water capacity, with a 200-liter holding tank.

The accommodation layout includes four cabins with berths for eight plus two in the saloon. Headroom reaches 1.9 meters in the master and 2 meters in the saloon. A single electric toilet with saltwater flush, one shower, and 50 liters of hot water heated by engine and shore power support comfortable extended cruising. The galley is fully equipped with refrigeration, freezer, stove, and oven. A diesel heater provides warmth without air conditioning.

The rig features a Selden mast with roller boom, supported by running rigging in excellent condition aside from two lines requiring replacement. A new mainsail was installed in 2025, with a headsail from 2023 and new furlers fitted in 2025. Navigation and electronics include a Raymarine chartplotter, autopilot, GPS, AIS, depth sounder, wind instruments, VHF radios, and satellite phone. Electrical systems comprise a 750-watt solar array, new 500-watt wind generator, and dual battery banks with a 1000-watt inverter.

The yacht underwent comprehensive refit in 2024–2025, including new batteries, safety gear including a six-person life raft, and life jackets. Two seacocks and antifouling require attention. The boat carries dual anchoring systems—primary and spare Bruce anchors with 100 and 80 meters of chain respectively—plus a mechanical windlass. A tender with 6hp Yamaha outboard, full bimini cover, and extensive ground tackle and spares complete the package.
