1982 Jeanneau Trinidad 48

The Trinidad 48 was Jeanneau's first large ocean cruiser, designed in 1981 by Guy Ribadeau Dumas. This 47-foot fiberglass sailing yacht combines a spacious cockpit and saloon with a bluewater cruising hull, delivering both comfort and capable performance. Powered by a single 80 hp Perkins diesel engine and fitted with a bowthruster, the boat handles well in close quarters and open water alike.

The interior arranges three cabins and three heads, laid out for extended cruising or live-aboard comfort. The saloon provides generous gathering space, while the design prioritizes the practical storage and systems needed for serious passage-making. Rigging and deck hardware follow high-performance standards, with substantial construction throughout.

The current owner has extensively updated the boat since 2015. Recent work includes a new rudder and rudder stock, new Leisurefurl boom, rebuilt mast step, and renewed running rigging and stanchions. Structural elements have been addressed, including new decks, engine bed work, and forward collision bulkhead reinforcement. Systems have been comprehensively renewed: new bottom barrier coat, through-hull fittings, sanitation and water hoses, potable water tanks and plumbing, navigation electronics, wiring, charging systems, and battery banks. The shaft is new, air conditioning has been renewed, and interior joinery and finish work have been completed.
