1998 Custom Power Cat
About This Yacht
This 40-foot custom power catamaran was built in 1998 and constructed of fiberglass. Twin Yanmar 420-horsepower diesel engines drive Vosper hydraulic jet pumps, supported by two 225-gallon fuel tanks. The boat holds a USCG certificate of inspection for 36 passengers and passed both its two-year and five-year COI inspections in October.
The deck layout includes outriggers, and onboard accommodations comprise one head. Navigation and communication systems include a Garmin GPSmap 182, Furuno chartplotter, Standard Horizon VHF radio, and transducer. Power comes from two Interstate 4D deep-cycle batteries. The boat carries four Rule 2000 bilge pumps with high-water alarms and two Fire Boy engine override systems.
Safety gear included comprises life jackets for 38 adults and 4 children, a throwable life ring with strobe, life float, fire extinguishers, flares, EPIRB, and Halon fire suppression. All safety equipment required to pass COI certification is aboard. The boat also carries a swing motor, plus an extensive collection of additional motor and jet drive parts. Note that the swing motor requires new injectors, and the jet pumps will likely need servicing or replacement in the near term.
