1998 Pacific Seacraft 40

The 1998 Pacific Seacraft 40 is a fiberglass sailing yacht built for bluewater cruising. At 40 feet with a 12-foot beam, it combines classic design with substantial offshore capability. The boat is powered by a single 50-horsepower Yanmar diesel engine driving a four-bladed feathering propeller.

Below deck, the yacht offers two cabins and is equipped with dual 60-gallon fuel tanks. Systems include a fresh water maker, refrigeration, air conditioning, and a Victron Multiplus 3000 inverter. The navigation suite comprises dual chart plotters with AIS, radar installed in 2020, and autopilot. Electrical power comes from solar panels with a 30-amp MPPT charge controller and a Balmar alternator with external controls. An Icom shortwave radio and VHF radio support long-distance communication. A life raft and inflatable dinghy with 9.9-horsepower outboard are aboard.

The yacht has undergone extensive mechanical and structural updates. The engine received a new heat exchanger, fresh water pump, and hoses in 2023, with fuel injectors and transmission replaced, and shaft bearings renewed in 2020. The generator is equipped with a new fresh water pump and hoses as of 2023. Standing rigging was fully replaced in 2019, as were all lifelines in 2016. All hatches were upgraded to Lewmar Ocean models between 2021 and earlier work. New anchor windlass was installed in 2016 with fresh rode—100 feet of chain and 200 feet of nylon—plus upgraded anchors.

Additional recent work includes new bottom paint, topside repainting with black stripe, a replaced dodger and bimini with enclosure and screens in 2021, and new Bomar hatches with Lewmar replacements (save one). An anchor pole lift for the outboard is fitted.
