This 1999 Catalina 36 MkII is a fiberglass sailing yacht built on the proven hull and rig design the model is known for. The MkII generation introduced a larger cockpit alongside updated deck and interior layouts. The boat carries a wing keel with 4.5-foot draft and rides on a steel cradle. A Universal 35BC diesel engine with 35 horsepower and 495 hours powers the yacht, paired with an Autoprop self-adjusting feathering propeller. The rig includes a standard mast and 150 genoa with roller furler.
Below deck, the yacht features an aft cabin, L-shaped galley, and spacious V-berth. The galley is equipped with a two-burner propane stove with oven, microwave, and Alder Barbour refrigerator. Navigation and monitoring systems include Raytheon instruments for speed, depth, and wind, along with an autopilot that was updated around 2013. A Maxwell electric windlass handles ground tackle, which comprises a 35-pound CQR anchor with 50 feet of chain spliced to 150 feet of rope, plus a Fortress secondary anchor with rode.
The boat carries four six-volt golf cart batteries replaced in 2022, providing 440 amp hours. Freshwater capacity is split across three tanks, and fuel capacity is 25 gallons via a switchable tank. Topside, a red Sunbrella bimini and dodger were replaced in 2021, supplemented by a Sunbrella wheel cover and Tech folding cockpit table with Bottom Sider custom cushions. A Sony Bluetooth stereo installed in 2020 includes cockpit and cabin speakers. Additional equipment includes a 30-amp shore power inlet, TV and FM antenna at the mast head, and lifesaving gear mounted at the stern. The hull was treated with VC Tar barrier coat when built. This yacht was kept exclusively in Great Lakes fresh water by its original owner.
