The Catalina 42 MkII is a high-volume hull designed for cruising performance and ease of handling. The hull form features a fine entry, firm midship section, and smooth run aft, ending in a modified reverse transom with a spacious boarding platform. A long horizontal skeg sits between the keel and balanced rudder to aid tracking and control in all sea states. The 50-horsepower Yammer diesel engine powers the 42-foot yacht.
The deck layout prioritizes shorthanded sailing, with halyards, mainsheet, and single-line main reefing controls all led to the cockpit and operable from under the dodger. Wide side decks and inboard shroud placement allow secure passage forward. A bow roller and below-deck electric windlass handle anchoring. The yacht offers both two and three-cabin cabin arrangements, each featuring varnished teak joinery and ash side paneling throughout the interior.
Natural light and ventilation come through aluminum-framed opening hatches and ports. Recessed halogen lighting throughout the interior provides ambient illumination.
