A 32-foot Bristol Channel cutter designed by Lyle Hess and built in 1999 by Rockport Marine. The hull is traditional cedar planking over white oak frames and backbone, fastened throughout with bronze. Teak decks and Sitka spruce spars complete the construction. A Beta diesel engine was installed in 2022, and the sails are from 2016.
The interior has been freshly fitted with new cushions. Recent systems upgrades include a new holding tank and head with compliant plumbing, new batteries and charger, major electrical rewiring, a new bilge pump and through-hull, and a new depth sounder with transducer. The fuel tanks were cleaned and fresh anchor rode — 300 feet of 5/16-inch galvanized chain — has been added.
The boat comes with two tender options: an original cedar-strip Iain Oughtred Acorn with Okume transom, or a new 8-foot Fatty Knees with sailing rig and Shaw and Tenney oars. Original plans and a comprehensive photographic record of construction at Rockport Marine are included.
