1999 Grand Banks 49 Eastbay HX

The 1999 Grand Banks 49 Eastbay HX is a 54-foot Downeast cruiser powered by twin Caterpillar 3196 engines producing 660 horsepower each. Built on a proven C. Raymond Hunt deep-V hull with classic Downeast styling, she combines substantial seakeeping ability with Grand Banks construction quality. Maximum speed reaches 30 knots, with a cruising speed of 26 knots.

The yacht features a protected pilothouse with excellent visibility, a large salon with teak joinery and U-shaped settee, and a well-equipped galley. Two staterooms provide sleeping accommodations: a forward master with ensuite head and separate shower, and a port guest cabin with twin berths. A second head with shower serves the guest stateroom and functions as the day head. The pilothouse includes helm and companion seating, wet bar with icemaker, and an adjustable dining table. Climate control throughout comes from four Dometic reverse-cycle AC units totaling 56,000 BTU capacity, with recent electrochemical anti-fouling strainers on galley and cabin systems.

The helm station is outfitted with a Garmin 8612 MFD, Garmin 7612XSV MFD, Garmin Fantom 24x radar, FLIR M232 thermal camera, B&G wind and depth instruments, Simrad autopilot, and a CAT CMD13 color marine display. Navigation and communication equipment includes Garmin AIS, Icom VHF, and dual spotlights. A 12-kilowatt Northern Lights generator and 160-gallon freshwater tank support extended cruising.

Significant recent work includes new start and house batteries in 2026, exterior varnish maintenance in May 2026, hull painted in Pearl Gray Awlgrip with teak decks replaced in the cockpit and pilothouse, rebuilt Lewmar hatches, reupholstered cabin chairs, and replaced HVAC units. The engine most recent 1,000-hour service was completed in August 2024 at 2,250 hours, with aftercoolers, transmission oil coolers, and exhaust risers replaced in 2021.
