The Hylas 54 is a blue water cruiser built to the respected design of German Frers. This 1999 example is powered by a 135 hp Perkins diesel and fitted with a 54-foot fiberglass hull and 15.75-foot beam. The boat carries recent upgrades including new sails, electric furling main and jib, and custom electric cockpit winches controlled from the helm seat.
The interior spans three cabins and two heads, arranged for comfort and utility. The aft cabin features a centerline king bed with ensuite head. The full-beam salon seats over ten and includes a flat screen television and Fusion sound system. The galley to starboard holds three newer refrigerator and freezer units plus a 48-bottle wine cooler. A portside mid berth serves as sleeping or storage space, while the large V-berth connects to the guest head. Throughout the boat, the interior is finished in woodwork.
Synthetic teak decking was added in fall 2021. The yacht has been maintained and upgraded by its current owners with extensive equipment improvements aimed at ease of handling under sail.
