The Hylas 54 is a bluewater sailing yacht designed by German Frers and built by Queen Long Marine to offshore standards. She has a fiberglass hull reinforced with Twaron aramid fiber and vinylester resins, paired with a long fin keel and skeg-hung rudder for stability and sea-keeping. Her cutter rig is designed for versatile sail handling by small crews. A single 100 hp Yanmar diesel engine powers the yacht.
Below deck, the layout comprises three cabins and two heads. The owner's stateroom is positioned aft with a centerline queen berth, generous locker space, and an en-suite head with separate shower. The saloon provides a bright entertaining space with teak joinery and good natural light. A well-appointed galley, forward nav station, and sea berths throughout support extended offshore cruising.
This 1999 example completed an extensive refit in 2023 and 2024. Work included a new 12mm teak deck, all-new standing rigging, fresh white paint on mast and boom, hull and deck repainting, and bottom stripping with new barrier coat and antifouling. The engine and generator were fully serviced. Additional updates encompassed a new propeller shaft, new stainless steel rubstrake, new navigation and spreader lights, fresh bilge paint, new portlight frames, and new refrigeration. Diesel tanks were professionally cleaned.
