The Monk 36 is a proven trawler design well-suited for cruising the Intracoastal Waterway and extended passages. This fiberglass hull measures 36 feet in length with a 13-foot beam and is powered by a single 210-horsepower Cummins diesel engine. The layout provides two staterooms and two heads, offering comfortable accommodation for a cruising couple.
Extensive work has been completed over the last three years. The Cummins engine underwent a comprehensive 1000-hour service performed by a certified technician, including oil and filter changes, transmission service and oil cooler replacement, heat exchanger work, impeller replacement, antifreeze change, engine belt and shaft seal replacement, and valve adjustments. A new Westerbeke 8kw generator with less than 25 hours of operation was installed, along with new electrical systems throughout much of the boat. Battery banks were replaced in 2021. New HVAC units were added for salon air conditioning and heating.
Navigation and communications received full attention with replacement of all instruments, radios, and the chart plotter on both the flybridge and main cabin. A new radar feeds to the flybridge display, and a new autopilot and Trac-Vision unit have been installed. Bow and stern thrusters are aboard. The boat also features sonar, a new windlass, and updated rigging.
Additional systems and surfaces have been refreshed. A new refrigerator and freezer were installed, the sanitation system was upgraded, and a new inverter was added. The brightwork on the flybridge and upper decks has been renewed. Bottom paint and boot stripe were applied. All but the forward windows have been re-sealed.
