1999 Wauquiez Pilot Saloon 48

This 1999 Wauquiez Pilot Saloon 48 is a fiberglass cruising yacht designed and built for extended ocean passages. At nearly 48 feet with a beam of nearly 15 feet, she combines the brand's reputation for seaworthiness with a raised saloon that offers commanding views both underway and at anchor. She is powered by a single 100 hp Yanmar diesel engine, cruises at 5 knots, and reaches 7 knots at top speed.

The interior provides three cabins and two heads arranged for comfort on long voyages. Forward is a spacious owner's cabin with ensuite bathroom. Aft lie a double cabin and a cabin with two bunk berths, along with a second head. The galley is well equipped with induction cooktops, a large front-opening refrigerator, and freezer space, plus a 9 kg washing machine. An interior navigation station complements the raised saloon's natural light.

The sail plan prioritizes ease of handling: electric furling mainsail and genoa, with additional furling headsails and a Parasailor for downwind work. All sails were replaced in 2020. Rigging was replaced in 2017. The yacht carries hydraulic autopilots, a watermaker producing 100 liters per hour, solar panels, and a generator. Twin water and fuel tanks support extended cruising range. A bow thruster installed in 2021 aids maneuvering.

Recent work includes a complete engine overhaul in 2025, a new genoa furling system in 2025, diesel polishing system installed in 2024, and upgraded navigation equipment—AIS, GPS, and VHF all replaced in 2024. A lithium battery system powers onboard systems. The yacht comes with a 2025 dinghy equipped with both a 15 hp Honda outboard and 7.5 hp Mercury electric motor.
