This 2006 Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 49 DS is a fiberglass cruising sailboat measuring 49 feet in length with a 14.5-foot beam. The yacht is powered by a single 100 hp Yanmar diesel inboard engine with approximately 3,000 hours of operation. A fin keel design provides stability and responsive handling.
The accommodation layout includes three cabins and two heads. Full air-conditioning serves all cabins. The galley is equipped with a 4-burner gas stove, microwave, and separate refrigerator and freezer. A Thompson washing machine, hot water heater (engine and electric), and complete galley inventory including cookware and dinnerware are aboard. Cabins are fitted with sheets, towels, and blankets.
The electrical and power systems were substantially upgraded. New AGM batteries were installed in May 2023, comprising two for the bow thruster, four house batteries, and one engine start battery. An Onan generator with very low hours, Victron solar panels, and a Rutland wind generator with controller provide multiple charging sources. A Rainman watermaker produces 120 liters per hour. A Vetus bow thruster is fitted.
Navigation equipment includes Raymarine C70 and C120 chart plotters, Raymarine I60 and I50 instruments (new in 2024), and a new autopilot installed in May 2023. A WatchMate AIS transponder, VHF radio with DSC, and traditional compass, clock, and barometer round out the navigation suite. The main sail features in-mast furling, with a genoa on furler, a No. 2 genoa, and an asymmetric spinnaker with snuffer sock and bowsprit. A new furler drum, boom brake, and new rigging were recently fitted. Two new jammers are included but not yet installed. Harken winches include two sheet and two halyard winches, with one halyard winch electric. The boat carries a Lewmar anchor windlass, 75 meters of 10mm chain, and multiple anchors. A Bimini, dodger, and large sunshade tent are fitted, with cockpit cushions and seat covers. Two dinghies—a Highfield and a Nautend—are carried with a 3.5 hp Tohatsu and 3 hp Suzuki outboard. Safety equipment includes a 6-man life raft, EPIRB, lifejackets, flares, three current fire extinguishers, and smoke and gas detectors. Annual servicing has been carried out, and the engine and electrical systems show the investment typical of a well-maintained yacht.
