The Beneteau First 31.7 is a proven cruiser-racer design built on the performance hull of the Figaro I. This 2000 model combines responsive helm with strong sea stability and a warm interior layout suited to family sailing. The boat sleeps six across two cabins and includes heating for extended cruising.
Recent significant upgrades ensure the yacht is fully equipped for performance and safety. Standing rigging was replaced entirely in 2022, and the sail plan was optimized with a new Elvström headsail and lazy-bag system. Electronics were modernized in 2023 with a Raymarine EV1 autopilot and remote control, Victron battery monitor, and VHF with VDES capability. The keel received an epoxy treatment and full restoration during winter 2023–2024.
Onboard systems support comfortable cruising. The galley includes a refrigerator and hot water. Navigation equipment comprises a Garmin multifunction display, Speedo, log, and depth sounder. Raymarine VHF and AIS transceiver support communication. An Eberspächer heating system maintains comfort in cooler waters. Dual battery banks provide separate starting and service power. A 2022 survival raft, horseshoe buoy, and anchor complete the safety kit.
The Volvo Penta 2020MD diesel produces 20 horsepower and has approximately 950 hours on the new hour meter following a full service in 2021. A two-bladed folding propeller reduces drag under sail. Fuel capacity is 30 litres and fresh water capacity is 160 litres.
