2000 Custom Fishery Training Vessel

This 189-foot steel explorer was built in 2000 as a Japanese Government fishery training vessel and has been well maintained throughout its service life. The boat accommodates 65 berths with a crew of nine and is powered by an 1,800 horsepower main engine, delivering a maximum speed of 15 knots and cruising speed of 12.5 knots. Fuel consumption runs at 4.8 metric tons per 24 hours with full complement and all generators running, supported by a fuel capacity of 180 metric tons and fresh water tanks holding 54.33 metric tons.

The hull is steel construction with a beam of 30 feet 10 inches and draft of 12 feet 10 inches, registered under Japanese tonnage at 499 metric tons and international tonnage at 741 metric tons. The boat is classed and flagged in Japan.

Navigation and safety equipment is comprehensive and includes two radars, two GPS units, gyro compass, autopilot, echo sounder, weather fax, SSB and VHF radios, GMDSS, Navtex, Inmarsat, EPIRB, fish finder, and eight life rafts. This configuration makes the boat suitable for multi-purpose support operations or conversion to expedition cruising or specialized service roles.
