The Hunter Passage 420 is a 42-foot center cockpit cruising sailboat built in 2000 with a fiberglass hull and a 50-horsepower Yammer diesel engine. The boat features two cabins and two heads, designed for extended cruising and live-aboard use. The deck layout prioritizes ease of ownership with no exterior teak or varnish requiring maintenance. A custom stern arch with dinghy davits and an integrated solar array support independent cruising.
The interior centers on an expansive aft master stateroom with good headroom, a walk-around queen berth, and storage. A memory foam mattress is fitted in the master. The forward cabin provides additional sleeping space. The salon includes a smart TV and updated Fusion stereo with Bluetooth. LED lighting runs throughout the interior.
The boat has received substantial recent and prior upgrades supporting long-range cruising. A 600-amp lithium battery bank pairs with approximately 800 watts of solar panels controlled by a Victron system with Bluetooth monitoring. The engine underwent injector pump and injector replacement in 2019, and engine mounts were replaced the same year. Standing rigging was replaced in November 2019. A new water heater, cockpit surround sound system, and sanitary hoses for both heads have been installed recently. A Garmin chartplotter and autopilot were added in 2022. Freshwater and shower sump pumps have been replaced. The refrigeration system was updated, and upholstery in the salon and forward cabin was renewed in 2019.
