This 38-foot Northern Bay is a diesel-powered downeast sportfish built in 2000 and extensively rebuilt in 2023. The boat is powered by a single 715 hp Volvo diesel engine with Evolution drive, replaced in 2006, paired with a new turbocharger and wet exhaust system. She cruises at 24 knots and reaches speeds over 36 knots. A Vetus bow thruster and stern thruster aid maneuvering, while sound dampening and insulation keep noise levels low underway.
The cabin layout includes two berths, a full galley, climate control with AC and heat, and an enclosed head. A 6.5 kW Northern Lights generator provides independent power. The spacious cockpit is built around fishing, with a control station, transom door, above-deck live well and fish box, and extensive rod storage: 10 holders on the arch, 9 swivel-base holders, and 8 additional holders throughout.
The 2023 rebuild included new Zip Wake towers, a trolling valve on the gear, and professionally finished Coosa board bulkheads. The boat's beam of 12 feet 8 inches provides stability and interior volume. Deck equipment includes a stainless hauler and full fishing rigging designed for offshore work in all weather conditions.
