2000 Pacific Seacraft 40

This 2000 Pacific Seacraft 40 is a Bill Crealock design built in Fullerton, California. The fiberglass hull combines cruising comfort with proven offshore capability. A single Yanmar diesel engine of 56 horsepower provides auxiliary power, with cruising speed around 6.4 knots and a maximum speed of 7 knots. The boat is rigged as a masthead cutter with a single-hander's package and extensive sail inventory including multiple headsails, a storm trysail, and a cruising chute—allowing flexible sail combinations for varied conditions.

The layout accommodates two cabins and one head, with a saloon that converts to sleep additional crew when the table is lowered. The interior has been maintained as a live-aboard cruising home. Recent upgrades include new Lifeline 210Ah AGM house batteries installed in November 2022, along with state-of-the-art navigation electronics and power systems. The standing rigging was renewed in 2020, the hydraulic backstay adjuster was rebuilt in January 2023, and the masthead lights were replaced in December 2022.

The rig features a cream powder-coated aluminum Forespar spar with two sets of inline spreaders, rod vang, Harken genoa furlers, and a fully-battened mainsail system with three reefs. Halyards are led aft to the companionway for single-handed operation. Sails include a 2014 Parker & Kay fully battened mainsail, roller furling staysail and high-clew genoa, a lightweight 150% genoa, trade-wind configuration sails, and storm canvas. The boat carries multiple whisker poles for downwind work and features Spinlock rope clutches and a lazyjack system for sail handling.

The Pacific Seacraft 40 has proven itself on extended offshore passages, with over 30,000 nautical miles logged across European waters and transatlantic crossings. She performs reliably in heavy weather and handles comfortably at anchor for extended periods.
