2000 Taswell 44 All Season

The 2000 Taswell 44 All Season is a center cockpit cutter built by the respected Ta Shing yard and designed by Bill Dixon. Hand-laid fiberglass hull with vinylester resin and a full complement of longitudinal stringers provide solid construction, while the sandwich deck with end grain balsa core adds stiffness. A shoal draft of 5'6" and an ICW-friendly 64-foot mast make her equally suited to offshore passages and coastal cruising. The yacht is powered by a 75-horsepower Yanmar diesel with 5,858 hours, serviced in fall 2025 with impellers, fluids, and filters replaced.

Accommodations include two cabins and two heads arranged around a raised saloon. The center cockpit design incorporates a center berth queen and sugar scoop stern with a new custom teak deck installed in 2024. Deck features include double lifelines with three gates, double bow and stern pulpits, a swim platform with boarding ladder and storage, a stern shower with hot and cold water, and a rail-mounted kayak rack. Storage lockers line the deck and stern for cruising gear and scuba equipment.

The sailing rig includes a Selden aluminum mast with double swept-back spreaders, standing rigging renewed in 2015, and running rigging partially replaced within the past two years. A Leisure Furl in-boom mainsail, Doyle genoa and staysail, and a spare spinnaker complete the sail plan. Four Lewmar winches handle sheet and halyard work, with all lines led to the cockpit except the staysail and gennaker halyards. A Magnum power management system distributes power from a Northern Lights 6.5-kilowatt generator, 350 watts of solar panels, and a wind generator. New systems added recently include reverse cycle air conditioning, a watermaker, Starlink internet, a liferaft, and a bow thruster. Ground tackle consists of a 73-pound Rocna Vulcan anchor with 300 feet of chain and a secondary CQR anchor, both managed by an electric Lewmar windlass controlled from helm and bow.

Bottom was sandblasted and repainted in 2024, and the propeller was serviced in November 2025 with the cutlass bearing replaced. The yacht carries comprehensive navigation electronics from Raymarine, including dual chartplotters, SSB radio, and radar interfaced with GPS and autopilot. A Fusion stereo system with remote speakers provides entertainment throughout.
