The 2000 Viking 55 Convertible is a proven offshore sportfishing platform built on a solid fiberglass modified-V hull. Twin MAN diesel engines producing 2,400 horsepower deliver a cruising speed of 30 knots and a top speed near 36 knots, with the design refined for smooth, stable performance in demanding offshore conditions.
Below deck, the three-stateroom, two-head layout combines comfort with functionality. The salon features high-gloss teak cabinetry, large windows, and open seating that flows into a well-appointed galley with premium appliances and storage. The master stateroom is positioned amidships, with a forward VIP cabin and additional guest cabin suitable for extended cruising with family or guests.
Recent updates span 2022 and 2023, including new holly and teak flooring with solid teak trim throughout the salon and companionway, new Corian countertops and stainless steel sinks in the galley and heads, new light fixtures and hardware, refreshed stateroom carpets and wallpaper, and new cushioning on the flying bridge, cockpit, and helm chairs. The flying bridge received a new acrylic enclosure in late 2022.
Engine and systems work includes recent MAN engine servicing, new gaskets on both heat exchangers, an A/C system upgrade with digital controls, a rebuilt KVH satellite TV dome, a remanufactured Garmin 5212 GPSMAP plotter, new engine room LED lighting, new tower spreader lights, updated cockpit lights, and attention to the holding tank. The fighting chair was refinished with new cushions.
