The 2001 Cobalt 226 is a 22-foot fiberglass runabout built around an expansive activity platform at the transom. The single MerCruiser engine produces 190 horsepower and features a five-year warranty.

The cockpit layout prioritizes both recreation and comfort. An ice chest sits at the transom alongside a concealed boarding ladder with walk-through access to the main seating area, where a second ice chest and AM/FM digital cassette player are standard equipment. The helm features a leather-wrapped tilt steering wheel, depth gauge, hour meter, and remote stereo control. Cobalt's signature flip-lip captain's chair allows the driver elevated sightlines above the windshield while maintaining safety and control.
