The Elling E3 is a 45-foot fiberglass trawler yacht built in 2001 with a proven long-range cruising design. Powered by a single Cummins 6BTA5.9 diesel engine rated at 370 horsepower, the boat carries 1,441 hours and achieves a top speed of 14.5 knots. The hull is a semi-displacement design reinforced with Kevlar and carries a CE Category A Ocean stability rating with self-righting capability. Bow and stern thrusters provide close-quarters maneuverability.
The layout encompasses three cabins with an aft master stateroom plus additional crew or guest berths. The main saloon is spacious with good headroom throughout, and cherry cabinetry lines the interior. A pilothouse offers protected helm station positioning. The aft deck features an elevated swim step sized to handle a rigid inflatable, bimini shade, bench seating, and a cockpit table. The foredeck provides open lounging space with built-in seating.
Systems and equipment include a Northern Lights 6kW genset installed in 2016, a complete suite of navigation electronics, a Wallas Nautic 40D diesel heating system, a 1,100 amp-hour 24-volt house battery bank with solar charging, and extensive storage including three wine cellars and a large walk-in lazarette. A davit system deploys a West Marine 310 RIB with 6-horsepower Suzuki outboard. The boat was hauled in August 2025 for new bottom paint, hull polish, and fresh anodes.
