This 2002 Catalina 400 MkII is a 40-foot fiberglass cruising sailboat built for coastal and bay waters. A wing keel model with 5'4" draft, she draws shallow enough for exploring rivers and protected anchorages while maintaining seaworthiness. Power comes from a 56-horsepower Yanmar diesel engine with 1,097 hours.
Below deck, the layout provides two cabins and two heads, offering comfortable accommodation for extended cruising or weekend trips. The main saloon benefits from a Combimaster inverter installed in fall 2024 and fresh batteries added the same season. Electra-scan heads provide odor-free sanitation, and a tank monitoring system tracks water and fuel levels.
Sail handling is enhanced by dual electric winches on the main, an electric windlass at the bow, and a bow thruster for docking. The rig carries a full-batten mainsail with Dutchman track, a furling genoa, and an asymmetrical topsail with whisker pole. A Schaefer furling system manages the headsails. Running rigging was replaced in fall 2025. Two Edson leather-wrapped 32-inch helms provide steering redundancy, and a 58-foot mast suits Intracoastal passage. Garhauer davits and crane handle a tender. Dodger and bimini provide weather protection, and three electrical shore cords (two 50-foot and one 25-foot) are included.
AIS provides navigational awareness, and navigation is managed from dual helm stations. An outboard engine mount positions the diesel for easy access and maintenance.
