This 2003 Albin 28 Tournament Express is a fiberglass sportfish built around a single 315-horsepower Yanmar diesel engine. The boat reaches 21 knots at top speed and cruises comfortably at 16 knots. The flush deck design paired with a hardback enclosure and sliding door defines the layout, creating an open, flexible platform suited to coastal operation.
The cabin includes a head and sleeping berths, along with air conditioning and heating. A bow thruster aids maneuverability in tight quarters. The Deep-Vee hull design handles Northeast water conditions well, and the diesel powerplant balances reliability with economical fuel consumption.
Recent maintenance and upgrades have been extensive. The fuel injectors were removed, cleaned, and rebuilt with new nozzles and seals in February 2023, and the intercooler core was soldered and reinstalled. A Boca Shade was added in April 2023, along with new antennas, horn, steering wheel, and windshield wipers. The transmission and engine throttle cables were replaced in June 2024, and the Garmin chartplotter received a software update that same month. The hull was wet sanded, compounded, and polished with a polymer coating in October 2025. New coaming pads and a cooler seat were installed in May 2025, three new 31-series batteries in July 2025, and the cutlass bearing was replaced later that year. The gray water pump was serviced in September 2025. The boat has approximately 1,824 engine hours on record.
