The Bavaria 49 is a 49-foot fiberglass cruising sailboat built to accommodate family and guests across four private sleeping cabins with five berths total and three heads. The interior layout spreads across a spacious plan designed for extended cruising and comfortable living aboard.
The boat is powered by a 76 hp Volvo TMD22 diesel engine paired with a 4-blade MaxProp propeller and Hurth transmission, providing reliable auxiliary power in calm conditions. The sailing platform is built around a performance cruiser design intended for long-range capability without compromise.
Recent boatyard work has been extensive. New motor mounts, shaft, and coupler were installed along with fresh seacocks for the motor and watermaker. The thruster received new batteries, and the hydronic heater pump was replaced. The propeller was serviced, the impeller housing and impeller were renewed, and the keel was re-sealed. The Genoa was cleaned and serviced, and new bottom paint was applied. Mattresses throughout were steam cleaned.
