The 2003 Beneteau 423 is a 42-foot cruising sailboat built from fiberglass with a beam of nearly 13 feet. It is powered by a single 55-horsepower Volvo diesel engine. The model was recognized at its introduction with awards from both Cruising Magazine and Sail Magazine as among the top new sailboats of that year.
The yacht is configured as a three-stateroom layout suited to extended cruising. The forward master cabin features a centerline island berth measuring 7'7" in length, an ensuite head and shower with stall doors, and abundant storage in cabinets, hanging lockers, and drawers beneath the berth. Two aft cabins provide additional sleeping quarters—the port cabin has an oversized double berth of 6'8" with a small settee, while the starboard cabin mirrors this layout. Both aft cabins include storage and hanging lockers.
The saloon is finished in African mahogany woodwork with multicoat varnish and cherry stain. A three-panel skylight with individual shades illuminates the space above a full-size convertible dining table and U-shaped dinette. Storage runs along both hull sides with shelves and raised cabinets. The galley to port includes twin stainless steel sinks, a separate freezer and refrigerator, a two-burner propane stove and oven, and ample counter storage. The navigation station is positioned aft to starboard with good lighting and seat storage. A second head serves as a day head and can be accessed privately from the port aft cabin.
