2003 Catalina 42 MkII

This 2003 Catalina 42 Mk II is a fiberglass cruising sailboat with a 42-foot length and 13.83-foot beam, powered by a single 56-horsepower Yanmar diesel engine. She sails at approximately 7 knots with a cruising maximum near 7.5 knots. The boat features a three-cabin layout with two heads and 6'8" of headroom throughout. The forward cabin holds a centerline queen with an innerspring mattress, while two aft cabins provide additional sleeping quarters.

Deck equipment includes a hard dodger with full enclosure and bimini, walk-through stern, and fitted cockpit cushions. An electric windlass handles both a 44-pound Bruce anchor and Danforth spare, with 200 feet of 5/16" chain and 100 feet of rope, plus 600 feet of polypropylene shore tie line. The mainsail is full-batten with two reefs on a Strong Track with Stack Pack system; a 140% furling Genoa completes the sail plan with all lines led aft to the cabin top. An Aquapro RIB dinghy with 2-horsepower Honda outboard, lifesling, MOB pole, and freshwater washdown round out the deck complement.

Below decks, the galley features a propane three-burner stove with oven and microwave, along with a dual-access refrigerator and freezer. The main salon includes a convertible dinette that doubles as a berth. Two electric Dometic freshwater heads serve the accommodations. Diesel forced-air heating runs throughout the boat, and a 2000-watt inverter-charger with battery monitor manages five batteries alongside two 50-watt flexible solar panels.

Navigation and communication systems include a color GPS chartplotter, radar, autopilot, depth sounder, knot meter, wind speed and direction instruments, and VHF radio. Interior amenities include a CD stereo with Bose speakers in both cabin and cockpit areas, plus a satellite TV receiver with 18-inch flat-screen. The bottom received new paint in 2024.
