The 2003 Fountain 38 Lightning is a high-performance center console built for speed and open water capability. Twin Mercury 575 engines were completely rebuilt in 2021 with approximately 70 hours of operation since. The engines produce 700 horsepower on the dyno with 5 pounds of boost, paired with Imco Xtreme SCX drives and custom Mercury Maximus five-blade props for strong performance across a range of conditions. The boat cruises at 70 mph and reaches 104 mph maximum speed.
The cockpit features a full Bimini top, hydraulic steering, and a built-in freshwater shower. Seating and controls include a Carlotta wheel, Livorsi Monster gauges and throttles, and Livorsi data-tach prop-slip gauge. Navigation is handled by a Garmin 6 GPS. Sea-Deck non-skid flooring covers the deck, and a Stainless steel sea strainer supports the cooling system.
Entertainment and comfort systems include a JBL sound system with subwoofer. The dash was upgraded with carbon fiber. An electrical plug-in charger is installed. One head compartment is included. The boat rides on a semi-staggered twin-step design, which provides stability and handling characteristics suited to both running and docking.
A MYCO trailer is included with the boat.
