The 2003 Hatteras 86 Convertible is a rare production model powered by twin MTU 16V-2000 diesel engines delivering 3,600 horsepower. She cruises at 18 knots with a maximum speed of 24 knots, and her 5,000-gallon fuel capacity supports extended range operations. The yacht spans 87 feet with a 21-foot beam and is fully rigged for fishing.
The interior features a four-cabin layout with a cherry finish throughout. Accommodation includes the owner's cabin, two VIP cabins, a pair of twin guest cabins, and two separate crew quarters positioned aft with direct cockpit access. Five heads serve the accommodations. The main saloon and cockpit areas are appointed with high-gloss finishes.
Between 2020 and 2021, extensive work was completed including new MTU turbo exhaust components, overhaul of the Cruise Air Dometic air conditioning system, and replacement of all 17 seawater valves. The superstructure and hull received full polishing and re-varnishing, with new black micro-perforated awnings added to the saloon cockpit and lounge area for weather protection and privacy. New canvas covers were installed throughout, including the fishing chair and wheelhouse bench seating.
Navigation and electronics were upgraded with twin B&G Display H5000 wind indicators, a new Furuno sonar probe, and four Erans LED displays for plotter, radar, and CCTV functions. Additional improvements included replacement of propeller shaft bushings, new anodes, a complete antifouling treatment, new anchor and 100-meter chain, complete inspection of safety equipment, and new 4K televisions in the main saloon and master cabin. The watermaker, dishwasher, washing machine, and dryer were all serviced or replaced during the refit.
