2003 True North 38

This 2003 True North 38 is a 41.5-foot downeast-style cruiser built on a fiberglass hull powered by a single 440-horsepower Yanmar diesel engine with fewer than 600 hours. The boat delivers a cruising speed of 20 knots with a maximum speed of 24 knots, supported by twin aluminum fuel tanks holding 220 gallons total and a hull design engineered for a soft, stable ride with excellent tracking and visibility from the helm at any speed.

The interior follows a galley-up pilothouse layout. Below deck, a large vee berth with cherry woodwork is complemented by a spacious head with integral shower and grey Polystone finishes. The expansive pilothouse houses the helm station to starboard with excellent sightlines, while a full galley sits aft featuring a three-burner propane cooktop with teak chopping block, stainless steel AC/DC refrigerator, microwave, and double-basin sink. A convertible dinette with a varnished cherry table that lowers electrically seats six for dining and converts to a double berth. Fresh water capacity totals 100 gallons across two tanks, and a 28-gallon holding tank serves the head.

The generous cockpit spans the aft section beneath a large bimini top and features distinctive reverse transom doors that open nearly the full width to provide water access and allow dinghy stowage underway. Comfortable cockpit seating includes blue and white striped Sunbrella upholstery with fixed corner seats and removable benches, plus two stowable varnished tables. A stainless steel swim ladder deploys from the sternpost. Throughout the boat, four opening ports, four deck hatches, an opening center windshield, and side windows provide excellent ventilation, while dimmable lighting and reading lights serve both deck and cabin areas.

The hull carries classic navy blue Awlgrip with a white deck and grey non-skid surfaces. A heavy-duty full-length rub rail, Lewmar electric anchor windlass with stainless steel anchor and chain, fenders, and dock lines are included. House batteries were replaced in 2024.
