2001 Santa Cruz Coastal Flyer 41

The 2001 Santa Cruz Coastal Flyer 41 is a downeast cruiser built on a modified Gerr-Vee hull designed specifically for jet-drive propulsion. Constructed from E-glass and Kevlar, the hull features a shallow V-shape amidships that flattens to roughly 24 degrees toward the transom, providing a soft ride and stable directional tracking. The boat is powered by a 2020-installed Yammer 6LY2(M)-STE diesel engine rated at 420 horsepower, paired with an Ultrajet jet-drive system enhanced in 2023 with a new hydraulic pump, hosing, cooler, solenoids, and flow control valves. Joystick steering control comes standard. The boat cruises at 17 knots and reaches a maximum speed of 20 knots.

Below deck, the cabin layout includes a forward master double berth to starboard with a convertible settee berth to port, and an L-shaped settee on the bridge deck that converts to a queen-size berth. A forward head with marine toilet and wet-down shower serves the sleeping quarters. Maximum headroom below is 6 feet 4 inches. The galley features a propane stove, single sink, refrigerator with freezer, and microwave. A wet bar on the stern includes an ice maker and sink. Mahogany cabinetry, granite countertops, and a teak and holly sole define the interior finish. A transom door leads to a teak swim platform with side seating, and a cushioned rumble seat occupies the bow.

Electronics include a Raymarine 7-inch Axiom chartplotter with sounder, a 10.4-inch Raymarine depth display, Raymarine Evolution autopilot, and Ray53 VHF radio. A functional radar dome is present but not currently compatible with the Axiom system. The boat carries Marine Air Systems heating and air conditioning, a Xantrex inverter and charger, a 3.8-kilowatt Fisher Panda generator with 397 hours, and a bow thruster. An electric windlass with plow anchor and a teak swim platform complete the equipment list. The original cushions remain in good condition. Before winter storage, the brightwork was refreshed, the bottom painted, and the hull waxed.
