The 2004 Beneteau Oceanis 473 is a fiberglass cruising sailboat built to the Group Finot design, combining performance with the comfort and space needed for extended passages. At 47 feet in length with a 14-foot beam, she carries a Westerbeke diesel engine and is fitted with a bowthruster for added maneuvering control. The boat features twin cockpit steering stations, roller furling main and genoa sails, and a cruising spinnaker, along with an electric main halyard winch and recently rebuilt electric windlass.
Below deck, the three-cabin layout provides a comfortable cruising base with two heads and a galley positioned between the forward accommodations and the aft cabin, which currently serves as equipment and storage space. The main salon includes a flatscreen television, and the galley is equipped with a front-opening refrigerator and top-loading freezer. An inverter and microwave support galley operations, while reverse-cycle air conditioning provides climate control while connected to shorepower via twin 30-amp connections.
This boat is well equipped for self-sufficient cruising. A watermaker and three solar panels mounted on a stainless steel arch support extended offshore time. The helm is outfitted with a chartplotter and autopilot, with a second chartplotter available below. A dinghy lift on the arch secures an aluminum RIB and outboard. Shade and weather protection come from a dodger, bimini top, connector, and enclosure. The recent bottom paint is in place, though the keel could benefit from an epoxy coat. An aluminum dinghy with outboard and a Max Prop complete her equipment package.
