2004 Catalina 470

The Catalina 470 is a substantial cruising sailboat built as the flagship model of Catalina Yachts during its production run. With a fiberglass hull 47 feet long and a beam of 14 feet, the boat combines stability and stiffness with responsive sailing characteristics. A 76-horsepower Yammer diesel engine provides reliable auxiliary power. The design suits both coastal and longer-distance cruising, with strong righting capability and manageable sail handling from the dual helm station.

The interior offers two private cabins and two heads across a well-appointed layout. The forward cabin features a queen walk-around berth with its own head and shower, plus a pullman berth and in-cabin washer-dryer. The aft cabin provides another queen berth and accesses the second head and shower. The main saloon includes a large U-shaped dinette that converts to a berth, a settee to starboard, and 6 feet 7 inches of headroom throughout. Teak and holly sole, leather interior cushions, and LED lighting complete the accommodations. A dedicated nav desk supports passage planning.

The galley features a spacious U-shaped layout with a three-burner propane stove and oven, front and top-loading refrigeration, top-loading freezer, microwave, stainless steel sink, and ample overhead storage. Both heads have separate shower stalls, electric heads, macerator pumps, and Corian counters.

Recent upgrades include new electric heads, macerator pumps, and washer-dryer (2023-2024), a new hot water heater and forestay (2024), mainsail and lazy jacks system (2020), furling jib (2022), and new spinnaker with sock. Electronics include a Raymarine chartplotter with radar, wind, depth, and speed instruments, plus newly added AIS and VHF radios. The rig carries quality hardware throughout, with Harken self-tailing winches and a Schafer furling system. A 10-foot dinghy with 9-horsepower outboard and canvas enclosure complete the package.
