The 2004 Dufour 40 Performance is a composite-hulled sailing yacht designed by renowned naval architect Umberto Felci. The boat measures 39.57 feet in length with a 12.80-foot beam, and has earned recognition for its capable marine qualities and balanced performance characteristics. Its powerful, well-proportioned sail plan and ergonomic cockpit layout make it responsive and secure across varying sea conditions.
The interior accommodates three cabins and two heads, offering generous volume for its class. The main saloon features natural light, quality woodwork, and thoughtful layout designed for extended cruising. Storage is abundant throughout, with flexible arrangements including removable cabin partitions. Fresh water capacity stands at 320 litres, with a 40-litre black water tank installed in 2021. The boat carries a Volvo Penta D2-55B diesel engine producing 73.76 horsepower, with fuel capacity of 160 litres.
A comprehensive refit programme was undertaken in 2020–2021, with ongoing maintenance thereafter. The standing rigging was replaced in 2020, running rigging renewed in 2021, and the saildrive joint resealed the same year. The hull received hydrogommage treatment followed by two coats of epoxy in 2022, with antifouling applied in August 2025. The engine exhaust elbow and heat exchanger were serviced in 2025, and the propeller was replaced in 2022.
The boat is thoroughly equipped. Electronics include a Furuno radar, AIS transceiver, Raymarine instruments with autopilot, and VHF radio. Navigation lighting is entirely LED. A Quick 700W windlass with remote controls, 70 metres of chain, and a 7-kilogram aluminium anchor support deck operations. Solar panels installed in 2021 work with a 2000-watt converter and multiple service batteries upgraded in 2024–2025. The main sail has two reefs with first reef from 18–20 knots; a jib with new UV anti-chafe tape; and provision for a high-cut staysail. A Plastimo life raft rated for six, last serviced in 2025, is aboard.
