The 2004 Fountain 38 Lightning is a high-performance center console powered by twin Mercury engines totaling 1,400 horsepower. The hull design features Generation III Super Ventilated Positive Lift technology, a pad keel, notched transom, and improved air induction systems that deliver a top speed of 86 mph and cruising speed around 52 mph. This is the staggered-cabin version, engineered for balanced weight distribution and enhanced performance characteristics.
The cabin includes leather-touch seating and carpeting throughout, with stainless steel hardware and a full suite of instrumentation. The dash, throttles, bezels, and wheel are color-coordinated as standard. The boat accommodates one head and features a lightning bolt engine hatch with graphic design options.
The engine package includes Whipple superchargers set up by Teague Custom Marine, Stage 3 cams, lifters, and valves. The top-end work was completed 75 hours prior to listing. This boat was set up exclusively in freshwater and configured for Lake Tahoe performance at sea level. The current propeller setup can be adjusted for different speed profiles as needed. The graphic wrap can be replaced easily if desired.
