2004 Hunter 41 Aft Cockpit

This 2004 Hunter 41 Aft Cockpit is a fiberglass cruising sailboat built for extended coastal and offshore passages. At just over 40 feet with a 13-foot beam and shallow 5-foot draft, she balances seaworthiness with accessibility to protected anchorages. The Yanmar 56 hp diesel engine with 3,253 hours drives a Max-Prop feathering propeller, and a recently installed line cutter keeps the prop clear in challenging conditions.

The interior comprises two staterooms and two heads with separate showers, each with a front-loading shower. The forward cabin features a queen berth with memory foam mattress; the aft master offers additional sleeping space. The galley is well-equipped with a Force 10 propane stove and oven, front-loading refrigerator and freezer, dual stainless steel sink with hot and cold water, and a 40-gallon-per-hour water maker installed in 2024. The saloon dinette converts to an additional berth, and four Caframo fans manage cabin air.

The electrical system is modern and robust: 800 amp-hours of Dakota lithium batteries paired with 1,400 watts of rigid bifacial solar panels and Victron charge controllers and inverter (all added around 2024). Navigation and communication equipment includes a Garmin chartplotter, Garmin HD radar, Raymarine autopilot, VHF radio, and AIS transceiver. Climate control consists of 16,000 and 10,000 BTU marine air-conditioning and heating units, plus a Force 10 water heater.

Deck features include a spacious aft cockpit with walk-through transom, swim platform, bimini and dodger with Sunbrella canvas (good through 2026), and an Atlantic Tower davit system with tender handler. Sails comprise an in-maint furling mainsail and 110% furling headsail, both controlled from the cockpit. Ground tackle includes an electric windlass, 150 feet of chain, 150-plus feet of nylon, and dual anchors. An Achilles 10-foot inflatable with a 20 hp Tohatsu outboard (both 2024) provides tender capability. The bottom was epoxy-barrier-coated and finished with Hydrocoat paint in 2026.
