The 2007 Akilaria RC1 is a Class 40 designed by Marc Lombard and built by MC-TEC. She represents one of the few RC1 models produced, with a deck layout engineered specifically for competitive sailing. The yacht has been continually refined and carries a proven racing pedigree: third place in the 2023 Palermo to Montecarlo Race, the 2009 Class 40 World Championship, and line honours in the 2012 ARC Rally.
An extensive refit in 2022 updated the boat comprehensively. She is currently class-compliant and active on the Mediterranean Class 40 circuit. The combination of her performance hull and responsive design makes her suitable for both demanding offshore racing and fast cruising. As a vintage-category Class 40, she qualifies for dedicated rankings at sanctioned events, providing competitive standing alongside purpose-built modern boats while retaining the character and proven capability of her original design.
