2004 Nordhavn 43

The Nordhavn 43 is a full-displacement trawler built for serious ocean crossings and extended passagemaking. Hull number one of the series, she was designed as a successor to the legendary Nordhavn 46 and incorporates lessons learned from the groundbreaking 2000–2001 Nordhavn 40 circumnavigation. Her striking profile features a flybridge, paravane stabilization, and NAIAD active fins. Power comes from a Lugger main engine with dry stack exhaust and a Yanmar wing engine, supported by redundant electrical systems, a Northern Lights generator, and 1,200 gallons of fuel capacity across twin fiberglass tanks with sight glasses—delivering a 3,000 nautical mile range at a seven-knot cruising speed.

The interior reflects Nordhavn's hallmark craftsmanship with beautiful teak joinery, granite countertops, and white laminate accents paired with teak-and-spruce soles. The saloon and galley occupy the entry level, brightened by large windows and fitted settees with storage below. A custom teak dining table anchors the space, while the galley includes a propane stove and oven, microwave, trash compactor, and Sub-Zero refrigeration alongside a Vitrifrigo unit. The pilothouse, accessed via a short staircase, features a Stidd helm chair, navigation and communications equipment, a watch berth, and Dutch doors to port and starboard for deck access.

Below decks, the forward guest stateroom offers three berths and a shared head. The midship owner's suite, positioned in the vessel's most stable area, features an island berth, ensuite head with separate shower, and extensive storage. The engine room is accessed from the owner's cabin and provides excellent headroom for maintenance. A Splendide combo washer/dryer, high-capacity watermaker, and air conditioning throughout support extended offshore living.

Deck features include a custom extended swim platform, three-sided cockpit access with freshwater shower and rod holders, Portuguese bridge, and foredeck with Maxwell windlass and Bruce anchor. The boat deck carries a Highfield RIB with Honda outboard, paravane rig, and electric boom winches. The flybridge offers dual helm chairs, folding Bimini, and full navigation and engine controls for fair-weather commanding. Large windows, overhead hatches, portlights, and dorade vents throughout provide natural light and ventilation.
