The 2006 Nordhavn 43 "Brimmer" is a proven long-range trawler built for serious offshore cruising. Her fiberglass hull and single 105 hp Lugger diesel engine deliver a tested range of 3,000 miles, backed by the design's established track record among N43 owners worldwide. A Yanmar 27 hp wing engine and Northern Lights 9kW generator provide supplementary power. Fuel capacity stands at 1,200 gallons, with 300 gallons of fresh water and 50-gallon black and grey water tanks.
The layout maximizes comfort and functionality across two cabins and two heads. The asymmetrical salon opens from the cockpit with an L-shaped settee and starboard walkway leading forward via a Portuguese bridge. The galley sits forward to port with a chest freezer opposite. A pilothouse on the main deck includes a Stidd helm chair, raised settee with teak table, and watch berth. The full-beam owner's stateroom amidships features a walk-around queen berth with private ensuite. The forward guest cabin has a double berth and separate ensuite head with shower.
Navigation and electronics reflect comprehensive upgrades: dual Furuno NavPilot 711 autopilots, Furuno radar and 16-inch MFDs, FLIR thermal camera, Vesper Cortex VHF with AIS, Iridium satellite phone, and Nobeltec TimeZero software. Galley equipment includes a Force 10 three-burner stove, Sub-Zero refrigeration, GE freezer and microwave, and granite countertops. Power comes from five AGM 8D house batteries totaling 1,275 Ah, a 2,500W Xantrex inverter, and three reverse-cycle air conditioning systems.
Mechanical systems include keel-cooled dry exhaust, Wesmar active fin stabilizers, ZF transmission, and a Side-Power 8 hp bow thruster. Deck equipment encompasses a Maxwell 3500 windlass, dual plow anchors with chain and rode, Portuguese bridge, swim platform, and a Novurania 335DL tender with 25 hp Yamaha. A custom boom launch system, bimini top, EPIRB, and lifesling complete the inventory.
