2005 Beneteau 423

This 2005 Beneteau 423 is a fiberglass sloop built around a proven cruising design. The hull shape performs well across a range of wind conditions, and the boat handles with notable ease thanks to its fin keel with modified bulb and long rudder. Sailing is straightforward with in-mast furling mainsail and a furling genoa, both controlled by primary winches positioned conveniently at the helm. Power comes from a 54-horsepower Volvo diesel engine.

The cockpit is spacious with a walk-through transom and wide transom steps, comfortable for a crew of four or more. The side decks and bow are uncluttered, making movement at anchor or under way straightforward. Below, cherry wood joinery throughout is warm and rich, complemented by abundant natural light from fixed overhead windows, hatches, and portlights. The layout includes a galley to starboard, guest cabin and day head to port, a comfortable salon, and a main cabin with ensuite head forward.

The boat has received extensive upgrades over the past five years. Recent work includes a new Evolution mainsail and furler, replacement dodger, and removable davits, all from 2024. Solar panels and associated Victron charging systems were added in 2025, along with a heat exchanger on the engine and a Protournament battery charger. Navigation equipment includes a Garmin autopilot and GPSmap 816. Additional upgrades span new chain, stainless steel anchor, LED lighting throughout, a bimini with connector, and through-hull fittings, with the hull barrier coated and bottom painted in 2020.

The boat features Tommy Bahama limited-edition appointments including bamboo-colored hull, Tommy Bahama upholstery, Corian countertops, and a salon table with palm tree inlay. Two cabins and two heads serve the cruising accommodations.
