2008 Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 42 DS

This 2008 Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 42 DS is a 42-foot fiberglass sailing yacht built for extended cruising. The boat is powered by a single Yanmar diesel engine producing 54 hp and carries 82 gallons of fuel across integrated tanks. A Northern Lights generator provides shore-independent power, while dual-zone reverse-cycle heat and air conditioning (serviced in 2025) ensure comfort in varied climates. The yacht features a stainless steel arch supporting dinghy, solar, and radar systems.

The interior layout flows from a galley and spacious dinette to starboard, forward to a guest cabin with V-berth and private head, then aft to the main salon. The salon features a large U-shaped dinette, a full-length settee, and a navigation station, all lit by overhead ports and side windows. The aft owner's cabin offers a king bed with new memory foam mattress (2024), a separate head with shower, and three opening ports for ventilation. A second head serves the forward guest cabin and salon.

The galley includes double sinks, a gimballed two-burner propane stove with oven, and both a standard fridge box and a newer 12V Vitfrigo top-loading refrigerator with integrated compressor (gasket renewed in 2025). Interior upholstery is cream ultraleather, and laminate flooring runs throughout. LED lighting and a flatscreen TV are installed. The forward guest head received an electric conversion with macerator pump in 2023, as did the aft head; both use raw water flush. New settee seat cushions were added in 2023, and portlight screens in 2025.
