This 2005 Beneteau First 36.7 is a fiberglass performance cruiser designed by Farr Yacht Design. The 36-foot hull combines racing pedigree with practical cruising comfort, featuring a deep lead keel, spacious cockpit with dedicated mainsheet position, and an effective deck layout. A single 29-horsepower Volvo diesel engine powers the boat. The design inherits the proven formula of the earlier First 35 and First 36 models while incorporating refinements from the larger First 40.7.
The boat carries two carbon spinnaker poles—one cut to J length for non-spinnaker work and a second turbo pole optimized for enhanced downwind area. Onboard systems received substantial updates: a new electronics package installed in 2020 with B&G and Garmin instruments, and all running rigging was replaced between 2022 and 2024.
The engine underwent a complete overhaul in 2022, and the charging and battery isolator systems were upgraded at that time. Standing rigging was replaced in 2022. The bottom is painted with VC Offshore racing paint, features faired black foils, and receives annual wet sanding to 600 grit. A full winter canvas cover with frame is included. Beyond these documented improvements, additional upgrades and refinements have been made to the boat.
