The Farr 11s is a Bruce Farr design built for competitive racing at all levels. This 36-foot composite yacht features an innovative hydraulic canting keel, twin inboard rudders, and twin daggerboards—a technical package developed to deliver speed upwind and downwind. The hull is constructed from carbon fiber with a honeycomb and foam core, finished in white Awlgrip, with the bottom coated in burnished VC Offshore race paint. The carbon mast has been upgraded with additional locking halyards and stowable lazy jacks, positioned further aft for improved upwind performance.
Designed for efficiency and reliability, the boat prioritizes functional systems and streamlined deck layout suited to crew coordination during racing. The interior is arranged for distance racing and deliveries, with one head and practical accommodation for racing crews. A Yanmar diesel engine of 30 horsepower provides auxiliary power.
This yacht has been maintained with racing as the primary focus, keeping systems accessible and simple. The hull design delivers balanced helm characteristics, responding well to pressure and maintaining speed across a range of wind conditions.
