The Hinckley Talaria 40 is a composite downeast yacht built for comfortable cruising and serious seakeeping. Twin Yanmar diesel engines deliver 880 horsepower with a cruising speed of 30 knots and a top speed of 35 knots, managed through joystick control and trim tabs. The yacht's teak decks and transom are complemented by varnished brightwork and give it a refined appearance.
Below deck, the single cabin layout includes one head and accommodations sized for extended cruising. Recent upgrades include a complete electronics suite with Garmin 8212 screens, Fantom 4 radar, autopilot, and VHF radio. The pilothouse features new sliding windows, USB outlets, and an integrated wireless charger at the helm. A new Fusion stereo system and updated refrigeration in both galley and pilothouse support daily comfort.
The 2023 mechanical refit involved removing both engines for major service at 1500 hours, including new batteries, engine block painting, throttle cables and harnesses, bucket feedback sensors for the jets, wear rings, reverse pivot pins, and interior sole runners. The 2019–2022 refit also included a new holding tank with vacuflush system, inverter and charger, new interior and exterior cushions, LED navigation and exterior lights, Ocean Air screens for hatches, and repainted mast and engine exhaust.
