2010 MJM 40z Downeast

This 2010 MJM 40z is a 40-foot downeast cruiser powered by twin Yanmar 370 hp V8 diesel engines with ZT370 outdrives. The boat reaches a maximum speed of 37 knots and cruises comfortably at 32 knots. The I/O drive configuration makes her well-suited for shallow-water operation and lift storage, while the Hemisphere hovering system and joystick controls simplify docking and maneuvering.

The boat has undergone continuous upgrades since 2013. A major 2013 refit replaced the original powerplant and included a complete electronics overhaul with Raymarine displays, autopilot, radar, and depth finder. The hull was repainted and long-boarded to a mirror finish, and interior systems were modernized throughout. A SeaKeeper 5 gyro was installed in 2016 to reduce roll. The electronics suite has been updated through 2024 with a new Garmin GS165 multifunction touchscreen added most recently.

Accommodations include a main salon, pilot house berths, and dinette berth. The interior features a Crestron audio and visual system with touch screen controls, KVF satellite television, multiple zones of lighting, and custom upholstery. A microwave convection oven, Vacuflush toilet, and Reverso oil change system for engines and generator support daily operation. Exterior features include a Stratoglass enclosure, electric windscreen actuators, S&S Bimini top, and a side power bow thruster.

Recent maintenance includes a 1000-hour service completed by Precision Marine in 2025, a rebuilt Northern Lights generator, new cockpit cushion upholstery, and a replacement Yanmar ZT370E outdrive installed in 2023. The boat shows in overall nice condition with topside paint refreshed as recently as 2016 and bottom work completed that same year.
