2005 Hunt Yachts Surfhunter 29

This 2005 Hunt Surfhunter 29 is a capable downeast cruiser built on the design heritage of Hunt's Deep V hull form. The composite construction combines a solid E-glass bottom with foam-cored topsides, reinforced by foam-cored stringers and a vinylester osmosis barrier. The hull received a fresh Red Awlgrip paint job in 2014 and features a teak swim platform with retractable ladder, full bow rail, and stainless steel fittings throughout the deck.

Power comes from a Volvo D-6 common rail diesel engine rated at 310 horsepower, with approximately 430 hours on the gauge as of September 2025. The engine received a new long block in 2015. A Volvo Duo-pro stern drive installed in 2020 drives a pair of counter-rotating stainless steel props, also from 2020. The boat carries dual 75-gallon fuel tanks and is equipped with electronic controls, hydraulic steering, trim tabs, and a SidePower electric bow thruster.

The cabin sleeps two in a V-berth forward and includes a full galley to port and a spacious standing head to starboard with Corian countertop, shower, and solar ventilation. The main deck cockpit follows classic New England cuddy cabin layout, with a cushioned L-shaped settee, removable transom seat, and a teak table. The helm station offers excellent sightlines and houses a Raymarine 12-inch E120 display (2018), 2kW radar (2018), ICOM DSC VHF, and depth meter. Interior finishing includes cherry trim, white gelcoat, and teak sole. A new reinforced bimini top with Eisenglass panels was installed in 2024.

The electrical system runs on dual AGM batteries with 30-amp shore power and a Xantrex automatic charger. Ground tackle includes a 22-pound stainless steel anchor with 150 feet of rode and an electric windlass controlled from both deck and helm. Deck equipment features running lights, pressure hot and cold water shower, self-bailing cockpit with guttered hatches, and dual automatic bilge pumps.
